Program History

The CHPS Journey

Civilian Health Promotion Services (CHPS) began as a vital wellness initiative under the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), delivering preventive health services to civilian employees. Focused on maintaining a mission-ready workforce, CHPS provided critical support through blood pressure checks, cholesterol screenings, and health education, fostering resilience and readiness.

In 2025, CHPS is undergoing a transformative relaunch under DAF Wellness, expanding to an Air Force-wide service model in collaboration with Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services. CHPS now meets civilians where they are, ensuring seamless, equitable access to wellness resources and solidifying its role as a cornerstone of civilian health and mission success.

Our Mission

Our comprehensive services- including Health, Nutrition, and Fitness Coaching, alongside dynamic health fairs, seminars, and pop-up events- equip every civilian with tangible tools to optimize health, resilience, and performance.

Commonly asked questions about the CHPS program

The Civilian Health Promotion Services (CHPS) provides preventive health services and wellness support for Air Force civilians. Relaunched in 2025 under DAF Wellness and in partnership with EAP, CHPS now offers equitable, Air Force-wide access to resources that support health, resilience, and mission readiness.

CHPS is a DAF Civilian program available to APF and NAF Civilian employees, Air National Guard Civilians, Air Force Reserve Civilians, and Army Civilians assigned to AF-joint led bases.

Cardiac Risk Profile (CRP), InBody, Blood Pressure, Skin Analysis, Health Education Classes, Consultations

A complete wellness screening typically takes about 15 mins, to include reviewing results and consultation.

Cardiac Risk Profile can be completed once a fiscal year. There is no limit to the frequency with all other services.

It is recommended to fast 9-12 hours for accurate results.

The WELL Assessment is a comprehensive evaluation toidentify individual health risks and wellness priorities, forming the foundation of your personalized WELL Plan.

Every eligible civilian begins with a WELL Assessment, a personalized evaluation of health risks and wellness needs. This assessment informs a customized WELL Plan, a 90-day roadmap focused on one primary wellness goal, supported by expert coaching and practical tools.

All results are confidential and only accessible by the participant.
